We are excited to invite you to the 2nd Annual SPHERE Conference in Israel.

This interdisciplinary conference is an excellent opportunity to catch up with the latest research in diabetes and obesity. Lectures will include:

• Prof. Naim Shehadeh: Breakthrough innovations in obesity treatments
• Prof. Omry Koren: The role of the microbiome in pregnancy, gestational diabetes and infancy
• Dr. Afif Nakhleh: An overview regarding cardio-renal protection in diabetic patients
• Dr. Sivan Spitzer: The role of health units in local authorities in the realms of diabetes and obesity

Furthermore, there will be multi-disciplinary sessions involving various lectures on the treatment, prevention and maintenance of diabetes, including prevention of complications, environmental interventions, inequities in health in the social and economic peripheries, ethical issues, nursing, nutrition and basic research. Professional exhibitions and scientific poster presentations will run in parallel to the main conference program and the Israeli guide for the treatment of diabetes will be disseminated.

About SPHERE

In 2021, the Azrieli Medical Faculty of Bar Ilan University launched a break-through strategic initiative in the Galilee – The Russel Berrie Galilee Diabetes SPHERE.

SPHERE - Social Precision-medicine Health Equity Research Endeavour – is a transdisciplinary research and implementation convergence of biological, medical and social scientists and humanities for the advancement of health in the face of the challenge of diabetes and obesity in the Galilee.
