Dr. Merav Cohen is a senior lecturer at the Department of Clinical Microbiology and Immunology, the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University, Israel. Her research focuses on dissecting the intercellular communication between immune cells and tissue resident cells in the tumor microenvironment, by incorporating state of the art single-cell RNA-sequencing technologies, murine models, clinical approaches and advanced computational methods. The Cohen’s lab aims to assess similarities and discrepancies in interactome molecular-signature between tissue development process and cancerous conditions in order to identify novel immunotherapy targets, directed against intercellular crosstalk. Dr. Cohen conducted her postdoctoral research at the Department of Immunology, the Weizmann Institute of Science, in the field of ‘Immuno-Genomics’, and at the Department of Oncological Sciences, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NYC in the field of ‘Tumor-Immunology’. She holds an M.Sc. in biotechnology engineering from Ben-Gurion University, and a Ph.D. in ‘Neuro-Immunology’ from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
