Dr. Nathalie Asherie is a senior researcher specializing in immunotherapy and engineered cellular therapies. Based at Hadassah Medical Center, at the Bone Marrow Transplantation and Immunotherapy Center (Prof. Stepensky’s laboratory), she co-led the development of HBI0101 – Israel’s first academic CAR-T product targeting BCMA – which has been administered to over 150 patients with multiple myeloma and AL amyloidosis as part of an ongoing academic clinical trial. The study has yielded key insights into the link between T cell phenotype and clinical outcome, and currently serves as the foundation for further optimization efforts, including novel manufacturing strategies designed to enhance product quality and persistence in challenging patient populations.
