Deadline for submission: March 18, 2025 (23:59 Israel time).
- All abstracts must be submitted online.
- Abstracts can be submitted only for e-poster presentation.
- Submitted abstracts can only be modified prior to the submission deadline.
- The presenting author must be listed as first author and must submit the abstract.
- The presenting author must include a conflict of interest statement.
Topic and Language
- Each abstract must address one of the following topics: Global Surgical Oncology, Breast, Upper Gl/Foregut, Sarcoma, Colo-rectal, Melanoma, Hepato-pancreatico-biliary, Endocrine, Research & Education, Peritonel Surface Malignancies, Leadership, New Technology & Innovation
- Abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
Structure and Content
- The abstract title should not exceed 25 words and should reflect the content of the abstract.
- The abstract title should be written in standard sentence style in lower case letters with the first word capitalized. Proper nouns and human gene names also should be capitalized. Human gene names should be italicized.
- The abstract is limited to 300 words (excluding title).
- The abstract must be structured as: Background, Case Study / Methods (including statistical analysis), Results, Discussion/Conclusion (including study limitations)
- The text should be grammatically correct and suitable for publication.
- Special characters can be included.
- Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in the text at first use.
- Drugs must be mentioned by generic names, not trade names.
- Abstracts must not be used to promote specific drugs, instruments, etc.
- Abstracts must include detailed study results. Statements such as “Findings will be discussed…” are not acceptable.
- The use of special formatting should be limited as correct replication in all media cannot be guaranteed.
Conditions, Requirements
- The presenter is responsible for compliance with data protection, copyright for reuse of text, images, or videos, and/or other copyrighted content, ethical regulations, and laws.
- Abstracts previously published cannot be submitted. However, studies which have been previously presented at meetings but not published are eligible for submission, provided that new/updated data/findings are presented. The authors should declare this during submission and specify new information that will be presented.
- Preference for awards of Smith Surgical Scholarships will be given to attendees presenting posters at GSOS 2024.
Review, Registration
- All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a scientific panel of international experts.
- Evaluation criteria will include aim(s) and objective(s), materials and methodology, results, and conclusions. Criteria will also include novelty and clinical relevance.
- Presenters of accepted abstracts must register for the Summit.
E-mail notifications about acceptance or rejection will be sent to the presenting author subsequent to the reviewing process.
