Hanka Dekker is a Founder and Executive Director of VKS since 1994. VKS is the Dutch organization for adults and children with metabolic diseases. It represents patients with over 160 specific diseases. Started as a voluntary-run organisation, it now get its funding from the Dutch government and is run professionally. The aim of VKS is to deliver information on metabolic diseases, disease management and advocacy to parents and patients with metabolic diseases. Hanka Dekker studied PR & Journalism, in Utrecht, Netherlands. Later she got her education in Financial & business management. Hanka Dekker took various courses in metabolic diseases and paediatrics. She is a member of SSIEM and ESN.
